Viva Italia
Join @mmwine and @dolcedebbie for an evening of fantastic Italian food paired with equally incredible Italian wine. Debbie will be preparing three of her recipes for several guests to enjoy. We'll pair these dishes with three wines from the Peidmont region.
Our first course of Stuffed Mushrooms and spiced lamb pillow puffs are paired with Paolo Scavino Dolcetto D'Alba 2006
Our second course of Beef Tenderloin braised in Barolo will be paired with Sant Orsola 2003 Barolo
Our dessert of stuffed Peaches (with amaretti/amaretto) will be paired with Sant Orsola Moscato D'Asti
If there's still room and people are in the mood, I may pour a glass or two of another wine that I enjoy, though it'll be out of theme :)
We will be video streaming our food and wine tasting, as well as tweeting tasting notes as possible. Be sure to save the date! A lot of fun people from twitter will be with us, including @ChefJerseyGirl, @RebekahReidy, @TheBeerWench @missattitude and of course @DolceDebbie and husband @Barryfrangipane

Beyond the trade

Taking the UK wine trade tastings where they have never gone before.
This tasting is in conjunction with Bibendum Wine Ltd's Annual Tasting, one of the most anticipated events of the year for the UK wine trade. However, it is ONLY open to wine trade professionals and buyers.
This year, through the magic of Social Media and Twitter Taste Live, we will take a small selection of these wines out to "The People", those who ultimately consume these wines, to get your opinions.
The wines we are tasting are:
Laurenz V Friendly Gruner Veltliner 2007
Austria
100% Gruner Veltliner
Delicato Family Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel 2006
California, USA
80% Zinfandel, 17% Petite Sirah, 3% various red varietals
Dinastia Vivanco Crianza 2005
Rioja, Spain
100% Tempranillo
A bit more information on these wines can be found here:
We'd love to hear whether these lucky tasters like the wines, whether they are good value for money, what they suggest might match well with them, and whether it has whetted their appetite for more wine exploration.
(The time is for the UK / GMT)
